AXIAR Technical Specifications
Server Requirements
AXIAR currently runs natively on: Windows – UNIX (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, most other brands) – Linux (Red Hat, SuSE, others) – IBM i (AS/400) – Other platforms upon request (we have compiled on many different Operating Systems)
200 megabytes free space (Windows); 64 megabytes memory; TCP/IP networking capability; minimal hard drive required for UNIX, Linux and AS/400 servers
Client Requirements
Client workstations/laptops using the AXIAR Client Manager to manage jobs and devices are required to have the following installed/available:
- Latest Oracle Java runtime or update Windows systems for the Windows GUI version.
- Any PDF viewer
- A web browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.)
- Notepad or Notepad++ for non PDF files
- If client prints using PS files, a PS viewer program is required
Network Requirements
TCP/IP networking capability recommended; remote printing also supported to clients with locally-connected printers (Windows, Mac, etc.), cloud printing supported (contact us for details)
Printer Recommendations
Any printer with PCL5 drivers installed; PCL6, PostScript and Direct PDF printing also supported; AXIAR supports both network- (TCP/IP) and remote-connected printers

How It Works
AXIAR enables IT personnel to format, track and manage print queue, digital output and document management processes. AXIAR can reside on UNIX, Linux, Windows and AS/400 operating systems, empowering IT personnel to pick best-of-breed server infrastructure and deploy AXIAR on servers of their choice. AXIAR:
- Accepts output and print requests using industry-standard TCP/IP commands from business applications and client sources
- Manages a wide variety of output streams (text, PCL, PostScript, etc.) created by business applications from vendors such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Infor, QAD, etc.
- Manages output delivery to any network output object (printers, fax gateways, email gateways, storage devices, etc.)
- Monitors and reports status of output objects (online, busy, error conditions, etc.)
- Provides page-level print job recovery for ensured job completion
- Captures output stream and output object usage statistics for accounting and chargeback processes
- Runs on any network UNIX, Linux, AS/400 or Windows server
- Provides print management capabilities to large and small networks
AXIAR resides on a network server and manages network print requests and digital document delivery:
