AXIAR Laser Forms and Output Management Software for Local Government

Overview

Any large organization produces paper to manage processes and fulfill its goals. When the organization is as large and service-oriented as the government, paper-based data becomes a vital part of its deliverables.

Fortunately, LBM Systems’ UNIX, Linux, Windows and AS/400 laser forms, print queue management and output management software is used at many local government facilities in both the United States and Canada to reduce costs and streamline document-based processes.

Customer Examples

Legacy migration from proprietary mainframe forms system to Oracle financials: Several County governments selected AXIAR to maintain mainframe-caliber print queue management and laser form capabilities while migrating from mainframe to open systems applications. LBM software manages all printing output, easing the transition from mainframe printing to open systems printing. Laser forms (including payroll checks and utility bills) print using AXIAR Format and HP LaserJet printers, eliminating the need for dedicated form printers. Read more here.

Ensured print job delivery and cross-platform print queue management: Many local governments use AXIAR to manage a disparate environment of printers across heterogeneous operating systems. IT personnel can manage all network printers from a single interface and re-route jobs remotely. This reduces the amount of time IT personnel spend tracking ‘lost’ print jobs and saves time for all personnel. In addition, AXIAR’s print metrics logging and print auditing capabilities ensure print devices are used in the most cost-efficient way possible.

Laser forms and output management: One of the largest cities in Alaska uses AXIAR to format, route and ensure delivery of financial application output, including financial forms (POs, invoices, reports, etc.) and tax forms (1099s, W-2s, etc.). AXIAR Format is used to create dynamic forms for laser printing on blank paper; AXIAR Deliver is used to route the print output to printers while simultaneously creating a PDF of the documents for online distribution. AXIAR is used to manage thousands of print jobs per day across a large network of print devices and output objects.

Batch document imaging and data conversions for digital storage: Several police departments in multiple states use AXIAR and PCL2PDF to automatically print and simultaneously create a PDF of official state communications. Rather than printing and then scanning, AXIAR and PCL2PDF create PDFs ‘on the fly’ and route them to pre-configured output object destinations. Since the PDF is a text-searchable and exact duplicate of the printed material, there are no scanning or conversion errors to remedy.
